Earlier this month, the Magento community hosted the first Magento Meet-Up in Shibuya, Tokyo.  This inaugural event attracted over 60 developers, vendors, and merchants, including Kaiser and Kraft Japan, and Rewind, an innovative yo-yo company. Attendees had a chance to meet and share ideas with other developers, with Baruch Toledano, the director of product marketing at Magento, and with members of the GSI and PayPal teams.

Hirokuza Nishi, the Meet Up’s organizer, Miho Nakano, the frontend developer of Styletune, Inc., and Taku Fujita, CEO of Cototoi Factory, Inc and self-described Web-solution evangelist, spoke about Magento’s many features and advantages.  Takhiro Hisasue, CEO of Flatz, Inc., grabbed everyone’s attention with his colorful and entertaining comparison of eCommerce shopping carts, demonstrating that Magento is the strongest “eCommerce ninja” with the best shopping cart available.

At the end of an exciting day, the speakers and attendees gathered at The Hub, a local British pub in Shibuya, to trade tips and share stories.

The first Magento Meet Up in Tokyo was a huge success.  Don’t miss your chance to join the next Meet Up, and be on the look out for more local Magento events coming next year!
