MagentoLive Australia rolled into Day 2 with great energy. Following a great party the night before at the Verandah Bar, sponsored by Exceed Online, the conference floor this morning was buzzing with excitement.

Day 2 Keynote Address - Magento Enterprise Edition 1.13 is all about Performance

Magento’s Head of Product, Jimmy Duvall, headlined this morning's keynote address with insights into the incredible performance enhancements enabled through Magento Enterprise Edition 1.13, and he highlighted the support Magento received from its partners in Australia in testing the release and preparing it for launch. Jimmy also talked about the key themes of Magento 2, including its entirely new design approach, better extendability, broader API support, and an ongoing commitment to open source.

Technology Track - Responsive Design, Email Marketing and Multi-Channel

The technology breakout sessions highlighted some of the incredible work that Magento's Solution Partners are doing with our merchants here in Australia. Justin Milwidsky and Ben Wyeth shared their experiences in migrating ActiveSkin—a specialty skin care products company—from its legacy eCommerce platform to Magento Enterprise Edition. Netstarter, the Magento Solution Partner leading the project, designed a responsive site for ActiveSkin, helping the site look amazing across all device form factors and screen sizes.

This is truly an amazing story about the success merchants can achieve leveraging the power of Magento Enterprise Edition in conjunction with the expertise of a Magento Solution Partner.

Magento Solution Partner Balance Internet also shared a great story about Wittner Shoes. Michael Wittner explained how, with Balance's support, they've taken their mail-order business online with Magento Enterprise Edition.

Business Track - Personal, Local and Social

The Business Track breakout sessions featured some very cool merchants with innovative ideas. Amy Singe of luxury handbag and accessories brand Sterling and Hyde shared her experience with using Facebook as a commerce channel, which included generating $7,000 through Facebook in just a few hours. Amazing!

Magento Industry Partner Temando shared fulfillment strategies that merchants can use to increase revenues fulfillment, and shared how Magento Enterprise Edition customer Door Buster is succeeding with these best practices.

Thank You Australia!

Thank you to all of our merchants, developers and partners for attending MagentoLive. You are all great brand ambassadors for Magento here in Australia and we are grateful for your ongoing support. And a special thank you to our sponsors for helping make this such a great event.

We'll see you next year!
